We’re looking for a Director of Product Design to lead product design for Bedrock, build out our design system, and help build a world-class product design team. This role will report to the Vice President of Product. This role will report to the Vice President of Product and start out very hands-on and evolve as our product design team and company grows.

Only U.S. citizens living in or willing to relocate to the Washington, DC metro area can be considered for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day product design
Work closely with VP of Product to define product design vision
Work closely with CTO and engineering team and VP of Product to build version 1 of Bedrock to go to market later this year
Contribute to the development of our product strategy for B2B and B2G spaces and help identify new opportunities
Build out our design system in Figma and Coda
Produce beautiful, finished designs based on wireframes and verbal and written requirements
Use industry-standard tools (e.g. Figma) to communicate designs to the development and product teams
Help hire and build out a growing product design team
Mentor and provide feedback to product designers
Conduct UX research studies to understand user needs
Test and validate prototypes
Follow a user-centered design process and be a relentless advocate for our users
Encourage a design culture in which customer feedback and user research are included throughout the course of product development
Design products that people want to use every day
