The Opportunity:

TheDirector, User Experiencewill drive our user experience across all Vivid Seats products and platforms, shepherding our “north star” ideal states from initial concept all the way through implementation (in partnership with the product and engineering teams).

You’re a do-er and a leader – eager to roll-up-your-sleeves and get into the weeds, while also leading, coaching and guiding a team of UX designers who will look to you for the macro vision and the detailed feedback. You’ll inspire the team to do their best work and push the team to continue to grow and stretch!

The right person for this role has a demonstrated track record for bringing compelling user experiences to life – rooted in a clear understanding of desired business outcomes. With relevant data and user research/testing at hand, you’re capable of shaping our product suite to create stickier relationships with consumers and achieve our target business metrics. Working across web and native app contexts, you’re able to stitch together each of these into an ecosystem that works as one.

How your role contributes to the success of Vivid Seats:

Deliver user experiences across each of our products and platforms – with a vision for how we can achieve our desired outcomes and the detailed interfaces which do so
Collaborate with leadership across the org to translate input/needs/feedback/requests into the user experiences that deliver on their objectives
Inspire the design team to create their best; challenge assumptions and truly understand user behavior
Lead team to ensure that we can bring those experiences to life: meet deadlines, solicit feedback from stakeholders, and act as a key input and enabler for the dev process
Act as a people leader, facilitator, coach, mentor to elevate the execution of the team; support skillset and competency growth
Establish design frameworks and paradigms which move us forward, fostering an environment of innovation while at the same time enabling efficient product development processes
Design interfaces which communicate the vision; prototypes and wireframes to support early concepting, user testing and internal feedback loops
Lead user research and testing programs including usability testing, A/B testing and site surveys; utilize results to inform UX evolution
Stay on the cutting edge of what’s new in user experience, identifying opportunities to innovate within the Vivid Seats ecosystem

What You’ll Bring:

7+ years of experience as a user experience designer and 5+ years of experience in a people leadership role
Expertise in UI/UX principles, philosophies and processes, including experience in HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery, Figma
Strong people leadership skills – you know how to grow, develop and elevate the team; and thrive within an org that prioritizes direct feedback on performance and clear expectation setting
Superb visual and verbal communication skills – you are an excellent communicator across all levels within the organization
Impeccable attention to detail – you raise the bar on work product and have experience coaching and mentoring UX designers
Adept at all core UI/UX systems and tools (e.g. Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, etc.) – you know how to do the work and can sharpen the skills of those on the team
Skillful in utilizing data and insights to shape the user experience; previous experience building user research and testing programs
Thrives in a fast-paced environment; capable of tackling ambitious goals and delivering against them
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant design or analytical field; master’s degree a plus
