SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to join our platform team. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our platform products and services. This role is focused on the structure and skeleton of UX rather than the surface of the visual design. The right candidate would have Nielsen Norman Group as their browser homepage, know the laws of UX, and could do a heuristic evaluation on the spot.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and manage all phases of the UX design process, including research, flows, prototyping, usability testing, and implementation of platform tools
Collaborate closely with visual designers, product managers, and engineers to understand and incorporate user needs and business requirements into design solutions
Advocate for the user throughout the development process, ensuring the final product delivers a seamless and intuitive user experience
Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications, user and process flows, and use case scenarios
Lead and facilitate usability testing and user research, analyze results, and incorporate findings into design iterations
Back-up your decisions with the appropriate amount of research

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field. Master's degree preferred
5+ years of experience in UX Design, preferably in a technology or software development environment
Extensive experience using UX design best practices, with a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
Proficiency in a range of interaction design, visualization, and rapid design prototyping tools such as Figma.
Strong understanding of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
A portfolio that demonstrates a strong foundation in interaction design. Visual design and the ability to design complex systems are a plus, but not required.

The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $90,000-$115,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
