Summary Of Position

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving US sales revenue within Kindeva’s Global Health Security Business Unit, by developing strategies which achieve maximum profitability, growth, and penetration of the product portfolio. Activities will include managing the US GHS Sales team, consulting with the division leadership team to set and execute short, medium, and long-term strategic direction operating plans and building and maintaining customer relationships, including in the Federal market. This individual will be a key customer contact responsible for key account sales, forecasts, relationship management, and account planning. This individual will be required to help resolve customer product issues, identify new business opportunities as well as identify the decision makers, and close the opportunities within assigned key accounts which will result in the sale of Kindeva GHS products.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare sales operational plan, revenue budgets and forecasts (12-month, 3-year, 5-year, etc [BR1] [DJ2] .) for the current/future portfolio of products.
Monitor sales team performance with periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Analyze overall revenue budget against performance to identify areas for improvement and direct sales activities to achieve performance goals accordingly.
Develop and implement strategic sales tactics to sustain projected revenue growth. Develop different selling strategies, depending on the target market.
Develop and manage sales operating budgets. Analyze and control expenditures of sales department to conform to approved budget.
Function as POC and develop strategy with wholesalers and distributors to maximize portfolio opportunities.
Present management with oral and written reports on market intelligence (customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services). Provide suitable recommendations.
Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities. Pivot sales strategies appropriately.
Keep current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Communicate with regulatory colleagues (internal and external) to drive decisions and alignment on process.
Develop and recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Oversee the selection and management of business partners (wholesalers, suppliers). Direct contact negotiations and manage contractual obligations and business relationship.
Oversee and evaluate sales processing efficiencies. Seek and support implementation of improvements.
Establish guidelines and goals for participation in exhibitions, seminars, and trade fairs. Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners. Meet with customers and clients to establish long-term relationships and step in to negotiate and close important deals with clients as needed.
Compliance with all internal organizational Kindeva policies and procedures regarding the sales of pharmaceutical products. Compliance with external regulatory policies and procedures regarding the sales of pharmaceutical products.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Key Working Relationships

This role must maintain strong working relationships cross-functionally with business leaders, employees, and external partners across the global enterprise.

Qualifications

8+ years relevant work experience in sales, managing sales teams, key account management and/or business development, preferably in the pharmaceuticals industry.
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in business, science, engineering, or related field.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to interface with customers, senior management, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in customer interactions related to Global Health Security, Emergency/Pre-Hospital Markets, and/or Federal Sales.
Working knowledge of wholesale distribution channels.
Solid business acumen with excellent communication skills for a wide variety of audiences, both internal and external.
Knowledge and application of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Global Trade Control laws, international distributors, and contract management desired.
MBA is highly desirable.
Travel:Position may require some evening and weekend work. 25% travel, including local account management and limited international travel
