Position Summary

The Operations Manager is a detail-oriented leadership role responsible for facilitating and developing organizational efficiency and long-term business growth through oversight of the administrative, marketing/business development, logistic, and storage functions at Montage Logistics. This role will work closely with stakeholders to manage contracts, coordinate logistics operations, manage labor needs, explore business development opportunities, and implement best practices. A strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a creative problem-solving mindset are key to success within this role.

Measures Of Success

Goods are transported safely, efficiently, and within the required timeframe.
Warehouse Requests for Proposals are returned within 10 calendar days of original bid request.
Manage staff to return and acknowledge all correspondence within 24 hours.
Project freight, storage, and labor expenses do not exceed budget limitations.
Project installations are completed within the requested time frame.
Material shipments are received and logged into inventory in a timely manner.
Warehouse paperwork is accurate, up to date, and well organized.
Claims are managed as per each Vendor's terms & conditions with no cost to StudioSIX5.
A sustained growth of logistics and installation labor resources.
Inventory audits meet accuracy standards established during program implementation.
Manage and maintain a minimum 20% profit margin.

Duties/Responsibilities

Build a network of installation contractors to service projects regionally.
Evaluate warehouse processes and layout to improve efficiency and client services.
Evaluate materials stored or handled to identify opportunities for procedural or product innovations to improve efficiency and client services.
Collaborate with senior management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
Devise strategies to ensure growth of programs enterprise-wide, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs.
Marketing/Business Development lead for Montage Logistics, working closely with marketing director on monthly campaigns.
Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
Develop in-depth knowledge of company offerings across all corporate entities to identify profitable business opportunities.
Identify emerging trends within freight and warehouse contracts and make proactive recommendations to the leadership team.
Identify business or marketing opportunities and present to company executives and management.
Prepare Request for Quote (RFQ) packets for warehouse services.
Review warehouse contracts and negotiate advantageous terms and conditions.
Review installation contractor performance with Design Teams and provide corrective action where needed.
Review and approve vendor invoices with in-house Accounting Department and contractor labor costs.
Negotiate pricing with vendors for transportation and installation services.
Source logistics vendors for FTL, LTL, and parcel shipping.
Obtains freight quotes, pick-up, and shipment confirmations.
Calculate truckload requirements by reviewing project furnishings lists.
Monitor the Project Installation schedule to forecast logistic and installation business volume.
Coordinate shipment lead times and load schedules with Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Staff and Contractors, Installation Coordinator, Accounting Department, and Design Team.
Coordinates with the Clients to define project logistic requirements, load planning, and shipment documentation standards.
Oversee warehouse expenses and review with senior management to evaluate business and project performance.
Assist warehouse manager in scheduling truckload, LTL, and parcel shipments.
Assist in unloads/loads of shipments both manually and using dollies, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
Assist in placing received goods in assigned warehouse racks, bay, or floor location.
Assist Warehouse Manager with site supervision by coordinating with the Property Manager and Purchasing Director.
Reviews and approves supply requests submitted by the Warehouse Manager.
Meets weekly and provides reporting to the President and Leadership team.
Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Works with HR Department in meeting staffing needs.
Maintains staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
All other duties as assigned by Leadership Team.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule during peak installation season or for special projects.
Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines and logistic vendor lead times.
Comfortable working independently in a fast paced, frequently changing, task-based work environment.
Able to conformably lift 50 lbs.
Might be required to be on feet for a long period of time.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a non-climate -controlled environment.
Desire to grow and take on ownership of the implementation of new business lines.
Must be skilled at mathematics, negotiation, and supply chain management.
Solid judgment with ability to make sound decisions.
Advanced computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam are required.

Experience / Education

QuickBooks experience is a plus.
Familiarity full truck load and less than truckload shipping procedures and policies.
Five or more years of management experience.
Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts a plus.
Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements.
Customer service experience preferred.

This position requires 20% travel in Texas region.
This position requires occasional nights, weekends, holidays, and after hours' availability.
This position requires a current and valid driver's license.
