The Regional Business Director will be expected to build a high-performance sales organization while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and a sense of urgency towards the achievement of desired goals and outcomes. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of oncology market dynamics including key customers and accounts with an underlying passion and focus on delivering impactful therapies and transforming the lives of patients. Success in this role will require a collaborative mindset and having hands on experience in the Oncology, Immune (IO) Oncology, Rare Disease & Solid Tumor, therapeutic space. Geographically, the Regional Business Director will have responsibility for coverage of an assigned region. This role reports to the VP, Sales and will be based in/near a major city within the assigned region. This is a remote-based position located in the Southwest region of the United States.

Responsibilities:

Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing Oncology Account Management (OAMs) Team to meet the evolving needs of customers and drive business results
Drive strategies, tactics, and initiatives that result in increased engagement with customers
Direct the development and execution of a customer engagement plan within the region that is aligned with Brand launch strategies and tactics
Work compliantly cross-functionally with home-office teams, Marketing, Data & Analytics, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and field management to maximize brand adoption and growth within key accounts, including the successful execution of promotional activities
Continuously build and own strong Oncology, IO and Solid Tumor oncology clinical acumen as well as an understanding of the reimbursement environment, and infusion oncolytic distribution (SD) to lead a targeted strategy in assigned region
Partner with the data, analytics, and commercial technology team to maximize usage of data, reports, and technology that enable precision customer targeting and the highest level of customer service
Conduct regular field visits and business reviews to evaluate the assigned Oncology Account Management Team’s performance against established objectives; provides commercial leadership with reporting, covering business issues, performance results, and customer service issues
Plan, forecast, and oversee regional operating budgets, while actively monitoring expenses as part of overall P/L management
Provide consistent, timely, and accurate performance feedback based on observations of key customer interactions and business performance as part of an overall performance management process

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 15 years; Master’s degree with 12 years; or PhD with 8 year’s experience. Proven director-level/functional area management experience demonstrating business acumen, developing and delivering functional/department strategy, delivering results, championing innovation, coaching and developing subordinates including remote and cross-functional teams.
Minimum 5 years oncology experience (Oncology, IO, solid tumors and infusion products)
Direct experience working with key opinion leaders and/or executive-level customers of high influence in large practices, hospitals, and community networks
Experience in leading a sales team in oncology large group practices, academic centers/institutions, community markets, and IDN’s
Experience in the use of technology (CRM, Business Planning tools, reporting tools, LMS) to help build business acumen for self and team
Experience coaching in a matrixed partner selling environment
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders and senior level leaders, good conflict management and negotiations skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations
Must have a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risk
Significant travel may be required, up to 50% travel, based on business needs

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $220,000 to $255,000. Final compensation depends on multiple factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skillset, depth and breadth of knowledge, internal equity, and external market factors.
