Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Member Strategy & Operations reports directly to the Vice President, Member Relations and is a leader on the Member Relations team – the group responsible for development, planning, and management of organization’s membership initiatives, including member engagement, renewals, and recruitment efforts. The Senior Director will have three (3) direct reports and work with the greater team to provide sales operations strategy and oversight. This individual will also provide the highest level of member services to both retain and grow ACP’s existing member base of over 800 companies which drives $45M in annual revenue, across solar, land-based wind, offshore wind, and battery storage.

The Senior Director will lead sales operation initiatives for the engagement and recruitment of members to ensure our organization has the necessary processes and tools to reach the sales goals each year. The Senior Director will work closely with the Vice President, Member Relations and across other ACP Departments to understand the needs of the renewable energy industry and drive the value of membership at ACP. A successful Senior Director will support and enable the frontline Member Relations engagement and sales staff to sell more efficiently by providing strategic direction, creating tools, and elevating processes.

Sales Operations:

Create department wide sales practices and implement those into the CRM and other tracking tools.
Train staff in sales and engagement excellence and best practices.
Increase teams’ efficiency with leads, transactions, and time management.
Capture sales data and analyze regularly to recommend strategic changes for increased results.
Collaborate with marketing and communications departments to develop sales and marketing materials needed for the promotion of ACP Membership.
Develop “go to market” models for sales of membership, councils, and other add-ons.
Recommend and develop new member programs and services.
Act as a leader for the annual member renewal process collaborating with Member Relations teammates to secure renewal commitments, generate invoices, and drive collections to ensure the association maintains its high member retention rate.
Work with Vice President of Member Relations and ACP’s IT department to enhance and improve online renewal system.
Work with Vice President of Member Relations on developing department’s annual strategic goals while managing a team of three (3) employees.

Strategy & Operational Oversight:

Collaborate with ACP’s IT department to create and implement a high-quality tracking and record keeping system with our existing Association Management System (AMS).
Work cross departmentally to promote member relations and engagement across ACP by providing information and resources to support organization-wide membership work and developing innovative programs and initiatives that add value to membership.
Contribute to the design and creation of new revenue streams that will promote and cross-sell additional benefits beyond baseline membership dues.
Define, track, and report on key engagement and financial metrics; provide regular updates to Vice President of Member Relations.

Education, Experience & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited college/university.
10+ years’ overall experience in a professional environment, 6+ of those years in progressive trade association membership-based role required.
Leadership & team management experience with ability to motivate and direct talented, high functioning individuals to maximize retention and engagement.
Strong internal and external, written and verbal, communication skills to serve as a spokesperson to ACP members and to foster internal collaboration and regular communications.
Highly organized and ability to prioritize immediate tasks with strategic long-term goals in mind.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working in membership database system or CRM, or other related systems.
Goal driven with history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to be creative and bring innovative ideas and best practices.
Member service mindset with demonstrated ability to put the customer first and provide “white glove” account management.

Job Conditions:

We are a fast-paced, high-energy organization with a very ambitious agenda and a staff that is highly motivated. This position may experience high level work demands and independent decision-making under tight timelines.

We reasonably believe that the base salary range for this position is $125,000 – 165,000. At ACP, a wide range of factors are considered when making compensation decisions including and not limited to skill set, experience, training, education, knowledge, and other business and organizational needs.
