What you will do:

Product Development & Marketing

Executes new and existing product upgrade initiatives, develops product and go-to-market strategies for new product lines.
Works closely with Sr Manager, Product Development, and manufacturing, to establish requirements & trials for existing, upgraded, and innovative new product offerings.
Partners with cross functional leaders to design and implement communication strategies and impactful messaging & training resources for new product lines.
Works cross-functionally with engineering, design, production, and scheduling to ensure all projects are delivered with appropriate specifications, timelines, pricing, quality standards, and logistics.

Product Quality, Testing and Evaluation

Manages and coordinates product testing with internal technical lab and outside consumer and product research facilities (In Home Use Test, Central Location Testing, Underwriters Laboratories). Ensures that appropriate test protocols are followed.
Promotes compliance and consistency with product quality expectations across all consumer product division combined facilities.

Market Research

Conducts product, competitive, and marketplace analysis.
Tracks market conditions, business metrics, and industry trends.
Coordinates third party research facilities to conduct periodic competitive product testing to identify product trends and improvements among the competitive set.
Facilitates and reports on competitive information for key national brand equivalency and private label competitors including product changes, new product announcements, capacity changes, pricing adjustments.

Customer Engagement and Consultative Sales Design for Key Initiatives

Interacts at multiple levels within the customer framework (both existing customers and new) to assess strategies to align Clearwater Paper product strategies with customers’ needs.
Provides the sales team with compelling category information tools and product intelligence to show product differentiation and relative performance.

Business Management

Partners with insights and sales to develop product line business plans.
Creates and presents the business case for new products to support growth strategies and hit profitability targets.
Consistently tracks and monitors opportunities to drive out product cost and complexity throughout our product portfolio including SKU rationalization and most efficient manufacturing methods.

What you will need:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field required.
Minimum three to five (3-5) years’ experience in a product development, packaging development, marketing or sales related field required.
- Private label experience a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good listening, organizational, project management and follow-up skills.
Must be able to work professionally with a diverse group of people and manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
High energy, entrepreneurial, self-motivated to support business development and growth.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Proficiency in working with and manipulating internal product database information.
Some mental, visual, physical fatigue from computer terminal use.
Primarily office and mill environment.
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment in the manufacturing environment.
Travel required (~50%)

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors.
