Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, physics, Mathematics, or computer science OR a Bachelor’s degree in these fields, with three years of directly related experience
  • Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and/or formal methods for planning
  • Experience and knowledge to develop, implement, test and evaluate novel academic and industry concepts
  • Proficient at high-level prototyping software languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Julia)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to clearly communicate with a wide spectrum of audiences
  • Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary hardware, software, and analysis team under the mentorship of a senior technical lead
  • Example problem areas include algorithm development and analysis for surveillance, tracking, and collision avoidance, and novel comprehensive system performance evaluation for vehicle separation and collision avoidance applications
  • Activities will include algorithm development and assessment, modeling simulation, and data analysis
  • Successful candidates will develop the skills to analyze the operational problems in detail and to develop deployable solutions
  • Additional responsibilities may include participation in test planning and flight test operations, as well as analysis and presentation of data collected during field tests
  • The Surveillance Systems Group supports a hybrid work environment
