Linux DevOps Engineer (remote)

Qualifications
- We are seeking a candidate who is self-motivated and enjoys problem-solving
- 5+ years DevOps/DevSecOps/System Administration experience or equivalent, using tools such as SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipeline components; including source control and build activities, such as Jenkins, GitHub, Bamboo, Bitbucket, or similar
- 5+ years of experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) or similar Linux operating systems
- 2+ years of experience with VMWare virtual machine administration
- 2+ years of experience with Agile methods, bug or issue trackers, Jira, or similar tools
- Thorough understanding of HTTP/Web technologies (Apache, NGINX, JSON, HTML, CSS, APIs, Webhooks, etc.)
- Experience working within current applicable information systems compliance standards
- Ability to write code in scripted languages (BASH, Perl, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, etc.) and script (Ansible, Salt, Jinja, JSON, YAML, HCL, Vagrant, Packer)
- Thorough understanding of cybersecurity concepts, experience deploying and applying secure configurations to systems, and defense-in-depth strategies
- Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP and SIP networking technologies, including VoIP concepts, routing, and host-based firewalls
- Ability to work evenings or overnights
- Ability to work primarily during US Time Zones to collaborate with other team members

Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems running a variety of software packages, such as MySQL, PostgresDB, NGINX, Apache, Elastic, Vault, and more
- Manage, improve, and integrate SaltStack automation processes into all Linux systems and builds
- Administer Linux system vulnerability management processes, including reporting and risk management
- Implement and assist with the implementation of new Linux systems, applications, or processes
- Perform root cause analysis of system operation, build, and deployment issues
- Collaborate with other teams to improve system and Infrastructure-as-Code design, while leveraging open-source technologies whenever possible
- Participate in vulnerability, change management, and Agile activities including Kanban and
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: e.g., automating manual processes, optimizing builds and deployments, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, or improving redundancy
- Manage and improve monitoring and alerting stacks
- Work closely with developers in supporting new application features and service launches
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the organization and adhere to all organizational standards
- Serve as an escalation and subject matter expert for compliance teams
- Maintain confidentiality of organization, project, fiscal and personnel related information
- Create and update documentation on assets, systems, and networks
- Other duties as assigned

- Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000 DOE
