Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in software development, test engineering, with expert-level expertise in multiple testing methodologies
  • 5+ years' experience engaging highly technical architecture, engineering and operations teams and driving outcomes with QE automation
  • Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to guide the implementation of BDD, TDD and related approaches to software development
  • Demonstrated competency in modern development languages and frameworks
  • Experience with Test Automation, Performance testing and DevSecOps tools (e.g., Git, JIRA, Ant, Maven, Jenkins)
  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification

Responsibilities

  • Support development and product teams in designing and implementing test plans
  • Champion Quality Engineering (QE) principles of shift-left, customer-centricity, automation, and continual improvement to advance product development
  • Drive the creation and adoption of automated testing to facilitate innovation, quality, and speed to market
  • Work as an SDET when engaging with Marriott internal development teams to assist them in moving from waterfall to agile
  • Mentors and coach's product team members on QE tasks and procedures
  • Functions as a working SDET where needed
  • Assists in setting best practice quality procedures
  • Reviews and edits product documentation
  • Drives the adoption of TDD, BDD and related test-first development methodologies
  • Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for delivering automated testing processes and tools
  • Implementing tooling such as Tosca, JMeter, NeoLoad, Cucumber, Selenium, etc
  • Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers
  • Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor teams
  • Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities
  • Managing Projects and Policies
  • Advises team on debugging aids available for environments
  • Prepares testing schedules and documents expected results
  • Assists in the scheduling and maintenance of lower environments
  • Assists in the defect management process
  • Participates in the identification and monitoring of risks and issues

Benefits

  • Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $101,096.00 to $178,603.00 annually
  • New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $83,550.00 to $178,603.00 annually
  • In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus
  • Employees will accrue PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually
