Role overview CarGurus is looking for a seasoned Principal JavaScript Engineer to join the Frontend Platforms team. The Frontend Platforms team plays a pivotal role in transforming the JavaScript engineering development ecosystem into a best-in-class environment where engineers can efficiently operate at scale. We are constantly modernizing our technology platform, looking to define key architectural capabilities and guiding development teams on their successful implementation. What you'll do Work in a fast-paced environment that allows you to push to production daily Offer significant strategic vision to scale our JavaScript development environment Collaborate with engineers and managers across the organization to understand and tackle technical challenges Write clean, well-tested, and efficient code Ensure performance, accessibility, and privacy concerns are handled Collaborate with your colleagues in a lively, congenial atmosphere What you'll bring Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and React Proficient at developing well-structured, performant components to be leveraged in scalable web applications Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines Proven full-stack development experience with JavaScript, Node.js, and React – ideally in fast paced environments Experience with NextJS, Express or similar.
