Qualifications

- you have an opinion, but aren't afraid to be proven wrong, and are open to suggestions on what tool or technique is best to most efficiently solve a problem
- you're as comfortable talking with our VP of Finance as you are with our Executive team
- you're used to being asked open-ended questions and whittling them down to questions that can be answered by hard data
- years of experience as a Data Scientist in a fast-paced work environment; proven ability to drive impact through forecasting
- Strong command of the fundamentals of statistics
- Strong command of SQL
Responsibilities
- As a Lead Data Scientist, you'll lead business performance forecasting and opportunity evaluation across Updater
- You'll partner with fellow data scientists on the Data team, our FP&A team, and other key leaders to develop a deep understanding of the levers that move our business, craft high-confidence forecasts of Updater's growth, and rigorously evaluate new initiatives under consideration by our executive team
- You'll have the unique opportunity to significantly impact the entire organization in developing the foundation for data science to accurately predict potential revenue generation & inform how those forecasts are impacted by business decisions
- You'll also help build our Financial Data Science function from the ground up
- About the Role Establish Finance Data Science function at Updater including defining forecasting methodologies, identifying - and filling - technology gaps, and evangelizing a culture of rigorous performance forecasting across the company
- Forecast business performance across Updater to inform internal and investor-facing forward-looking statements
