The Manager of Foundations & Grants will research, develop, and manage institutional philanthropic revenue and partnership opportunities. Working closely with RMPM revenue, program and operations teams, this individual will assist in the articulation of Rocky Mountain Public Media's (RMPM) mission and funding priorities, serving as the primary project manager for the Foundations program. This position will work with the team director to create, manage and submit grant proposals, reports, and foundation relations and ensure the foundation program is operating in service to the strategic priorities of the organization.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities Summary:

40%--Writes, edits, and develops philanthropic proposals and impact reporting to institutions and foundations (corporate, community, independent, and public along with government and state entities) in support of the RMPM's strategic priorities.
30%-- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and program teams to identify program goals, and develop logic models, theories of change, program indicators, and monitoring and evaluation plans.
20%-- Oversees and manages statewide grants process and tracks grant revenue.
10%--Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibility Details

Oversees the statewide grants process including assembly and submission of grant proposals, letters, reports, and other written materials that respond to funder requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
Serves as the primary project manager for the Foundations team's grants calendar and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators). Manages tracking system for grant revenue.
Employ appropriate data collection and monitoring activities to assess and report on progress toward identified strategic goals.
Supports in developing communications tools and narratives that can be used across departments to support strategic community impact.
Serves as liaison between Foundations team and other internal departments to identify new opportunities for collaboration and donor support.

Communicates grants status and processes across teams.
Collaborates with staff in developing strategies to support programs and initiatives that attract and promote community partners and cultivate and engage foundation donors.

Manages all grant deliverables, including cultivation, application submission, gift agreement, financial reporting, budget-to-actuals analysis, and impact reporting.
Researches foundations, corporations, government programs, etc. for new grant or partnership opportunities.
Develops relationships and partnerships with foundations through strategic cultivation and stewardship that results in more resources and broader audience reach for RMPM.
Tracks and creates a calendar of grant opportunities, including deadline dates and required materials. Collaborates with program and finance teams to ensure compliance of grant funding and grant fund expenditure is in accordance to grant contracts.
Creates strategies for retention and re-engagement of lapsed foundation donors, and for stewardship and engagement of current supporters.
Collaborates with contracted grant writer and directly oversees their tasks, time, and priorities in assisting the grants and foundations program at RMPM.
Oversees and writes a wide variety of development materials, including proposals in support of annual, program and capital priorities, and impact reports to effectively support the fundraising goals of the development team and to convey RMPM's mission to diverse constituencies.

Progresses new development initiatives from initial concept to design of a fundable request, articulating initiatives in diverse formats as appropriate, and once funded, reports on uses of funds and results.
Strives to continuously improve the quality, impact, and effectiveness of RMPM development proposals and communications.

May collaborate with counterparts at partner PBS stations to determine best practices in major gifts fundraising, specifically related to grants, identifying fundraising trends to guide internal processes, collecting relevant data, and ensuring consistency and accuracy of internal information for external distribution.
Performs other tasks as assigned and/or required.

Minimum Qualifications Of Position

At least five years of experience in grant writing, or communications development in a nonprofit is preferred.
At least one year of professional writing experience or demonstrated ability to write concise and compelling content for diverse audiences and diverse platforms, writing in a variety of voices and tones, and the ability to bring a fresh perspective to recurring assignments and topics, is required.
Must possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
Excellent and proven project management skills with a history of managing complex projects, delivering quality work on time and within budgetary guidelines, is required.
Highly proficient and demonstrated knowledge and experience with Office 365 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and other Microsoft apps such as SharePoint is required.
Must be able to work both independently and as a collaborative and productive team member.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally and productively with persons at all levels.
Must possess exceptional time management, decision making and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications Of Position

Knowledge of state, regional, and national foundations a plus.
Experience and comfort with program evaluation standards and stewardship reports.
Knowledge of and experience with AP Style is preferred.
Previous experience developing funding proposals or development communications in a nonprofit environment is preferred.
Experience with sourcing opportunities, cold calling, contact development, and customer service and relationship management skills is preferred.
Database management software experience is a plus (i.e., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge etc.).
