BrushProsis a family owned, rapidly growing, highly seasonal service-based business in the East Bay and we're looking for a leader to manage company field operations and help develop our field techs to bring out the best in each of them. We currently have a staff of four, two-man crews, with plans to expand the company to 6-8 teams within 3 years.

The Operations Manager plays a critical role in being an on-the-ground field manager, making sure crews are safe, efficient, working well together, doing quality work, and that vehicles and tools are maintained and well-stocked. The Operations Manager also functions as a coach of our field teams, striving to bring out the best in each player.

Field management. Oversee field teams and equipment to ensure safe, quality and efficient work is performed.
Quality Control. Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services to customers.
Reporting. Develop systems for tracking key performance indicators, and provide regular reports. Verify and enter hours worked for each crew at end of each day, for tracking performance per hour.
Hiring/firing. Work with company vice president to improve and implement best practices for hiring, training, terminating, and disciplining of employees.
Inventory Management. Implement load plans and inventory management for tracking equipment and supplies on company trucks, to minimize loss and maximize efficiency. Includes maintenance tracking for vehicles and tools.
Operations Budget. Monitor Cost of Goods Sold metrics for field labor, to control costs and meet targets.
Optimization. Continuously seek ways to improve processes, streamline operations, and implement systems to enhance productivity and efficiency and reduce costs.
Employee Development. Regularly evaluate the performance of employees, provide constructive feedback and coaching, and implement training and leadership development programs to enhance skills and capabilities.
Training program. Help develop a system for rapid basic training of seasonal hires in safe practices, standards, and skilled use of power equipment.
Policy standardization. Collaborate with company VP to draft and maintain updated employee handbook with organized and understandable standard policies.
Compliance & Safety. Instill and enforce a safety-first culture and implement Illness & Injury Prevention Program.
Customer Relations. Work with Sales Manager to minimize customer complaints and go above and beyond to resolve any call-backs quickly.
Field Work. Filling in for field work, up to 1-3 days per week, using chainsaws and heavy duty string trimmers.
