MSR has and employee base of 700 professionals and 200 contingent workers. Our team is based in both the U.S. across our headquarters and our 32 markets, as well as in Latin America, primarily in Costa Rica. The onshore teams consist of an executive management team, central operations, business intelligence, maintenance and repair staff, turnover superintendents, leasing managers and application processing, collections, contact center management, marketing, legal, and technology squads. The Costa Rican team consists of back-, middle-, and strategic real estate operations teams including property management, resident resolutions, collections processing, title and brokerage, leasing syndication, HOA management, utilities, and renewals, among others. Contingent workers who complete Tier 1 support and responsiveness for our residents sit in both El Salvador and Belize.

The Associate, Strategy role at Main Street Renewal represents a unique opportunity to be exposed to and operate at the highest levels of a leading digital real estate company that’s already at scale, profitable, and growing quickly. This role will support MSR’s real estate management business and go deep into the heart of our property management’s operations. You’ll build relationships with colleagues across all functions of the vertically integrated Amherst platform and bring the skills you’ve built to bear on some of our most interesting, and impactful work. The position will be based in Austin.

Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills are essential, with a strong preference for experience in revenue operations, data modeling, and reporting.

Responsibilities

Conduct analytics, research, and business plan development in coordination with strategy, research, asset management, and modeling groups.
Revenue management focus will include daily intelligence on leasing demand, application pull-through, prospect risk scoring, acceptance rate, rent-to-income ratios, completion volume, and rent price execution.
Assist in project management of cross-functional projects, ensuring executive oversight and driving future business operations related to revenue.
Collaborate within Operations, focusing on revenue, and collaborating with team members and executive leaders in Technology, Human Capital, Finance, and Marketing.
Prepare business updates and assist in follow-up and resolution for specific projects and their impact on company-wide priorities.
Consolidate, synthesize, and communicate regular reporting on projects, providing insights and support to the leadership team.
Assist in developing and driving KPI processes within projects, ensuring organizational alignment, regular dashboard reporting, and transparent performance management.
Coordinate with internal teams to drive a holistic and integrated view of business performance: i.e., Economics, Strategy, Finance, Operations, and Communications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, with an emphasis on Finance, Information Management, Math, or Business, etc.
5+ years in management consulting, investment banking, business development, strategy, business intelligence, or equivalent business experience.
Experience and training in R, SQL, Python, and/or Tableau.
Familiarity with real estate private equity or real estate operations and real estate finance preferred.
Proficiency in modeling and Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, able to engage with and support others.
Highly analytical and process-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, good attention to detail.
Flexible and adaptable with excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills; follow through with a sense of urgency.
Highly self-motivated and results-focused, executes efficiently and effectively.
