Expected compensation: $160,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year

HireArt is seeking a hands-on engineering manager with experience in full-stack web development to join a team focused on the sourcing side of our platform. Our ideal candidate is a player-coach: great at managing people and projects, happy supporting and mentoring a team of talented engineers, willing to be hands-on writing code, and eager to manage their own product features.

In a Typical Week as an Engineering Manager, you’ll:

Lead, support, and guide a team of engineers to ensure on-time delivery
Work closely with product managers and engineers to develop the team’s roadmap
Write code, architect solutions, and be a part of code reviews that contribute to the team’s code base
Lead and facilitate product manager and software engineers in agile ceremonies and implementing processes
Remove roadblocks, identify issues, drive resolutions, and proactively enhance the developer experience to optimize team efficiency

Requirements

2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers
7+ years experience as a software engineer
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
Experience writing production software with Ruby
Experience building, shipping and maintaining web applications that are reliable, testable and maintainable
Ability to summarize technical and complex ideas or solutions
Ability to lead a team in scoping and estimating work across multiple sprints
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
Proven track record of working cross functionally with Engineering, Product, Design and business stakeholders
BS or BA, or equivalent experience

5+ years of hands-on management experience
Experience as a staff engineer
Experience working in a rapidly growing startup environment.
Experience with ReactJS
