What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and ambitiousGeneral Sales Managerto manage a team of Account Managers (outside sales) in the south and east regions of the US. This role will align the Account Manager team to execute a shared plan, based on a companywide strategic marketing plan (SMM). Working to align managerial and development needs of Account Managers, building customer relationships, and supporting tactics to surpass growth goals. As a sales team leader this role will be focused on driving the best customer experience and long-term interests based on a unified company vision.

This position will ideally be located in the Eastern US.

What You Will Be Doing

Guides, mentors and gives direction to assigned Account Managers supporting long term growth.
Demonstrate positive and effective inter-team communication, collaborating to drive necessary process improvements, with goal to create a positive customer experience.
Implement sales strategies, plans and program initiatives to the assigned Account Managers.
Promote a team environment to achieve a shared vision.
At regularly documented intervals, manage Pipeline and Action Item objectives to drive focus aligned to SMM.
Maintain awareness of market and competitive conditions to share with team.
Aid and manage development of Account Manager Territory Plans, budgets and goals.
Uses key performance indicators, to track results and manage people, sales and activity metrics aligned with organization objectives.
Evaluate performance, implementing improvement and training needs for all direct reports.
Conduct quarterly Account Managers territory performance reviews.
Participate in negotiations and contract pricing as needed.
Work with Account Mangers to identify and develop new growth opportunities.
Develop high level relationships at “key” accounts.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new team members.

What You Bring To The Table

Strong knowledge of the Metals Distribution industry.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in marketing, business, or related field of study.
Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Effective professional leadership, delegation, and employee development skills; ability to effectively motivate, lead, and coach others.
Prior experience developing and executing business plans is required.
General financial acumen related to understanding of company profitability measures, analytical mindset.
Innovative thinker with ability to establish and manage a strategic vision.
Strong communication, presentation, business ethics and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make sound business and management decisions in support of company objectives.
Effective time management skills.
This role requires 50% travel or as business requires.
