Role Overview

The Java Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable full-stack applications. This role requires a deep understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies, with a particular focus on equity derivative trading systems and exchange connectivity. The candidate will work closely with traders, back office personnel, vendors, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the systems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Development: Lead the development of full-stack applications using Java technologies, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
UNIX/LINUX Management: Utilize strong UNIX/LINUX skills to manage and optimize the server environment for application deployment.
Troubleshooting & Analysis: Analyze complex technical issues and provide effective troubleshooting to ensure system stability and performance.
Equity Derivative Trading Systems: Work on systems related to equity derivatives, focusing on exchange connectivity and ensuring reliable trading operations.
Database Management: Manage and optimize databases, with hands-on experience in SQL/DB, particularly with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or noSQL databases like MongoDB.
Vendor System Integration: Integrate vendor systems, such as Sophis, into the overall application architecture.
Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with traders, back office personnel, vendors, futures business units, other IT teams, and clients to meet business and technical requirements.

Essential Candidate Requirements

Technical Expertise: Proficient in Java full-stack development with a strong focus on UNIX/LINUX environments.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Equity Derivative Trading Experience: Direct experience with equity derivative trading systems and exchange connectivity.
Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and noSQL databases (MongoDB).
Vendor Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with vendor systems such as Sophis is highly desirable.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, including traders, IT teams, and clients.

Full-Time Employee (FTE): $140,000 per year
Contract (C2C): Up to $80 per hour
