We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our fintech organization. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust backend systems.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust backend systems using Kotlin and related technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend Engineers, and QA engineers, to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Architect and implement microservice-based solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Optimize and enhance existing backend systems to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure a high-quality codebase.
Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and system vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to define and implement deployment strategies and infrastructure requirements.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply them to improve our systems and processes.
Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience writing backend applications, with some within the fintech or financial services industry.
Experience with AWS and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience in integration with Financial Institutions and Payment Service Providers.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java and related frameworks (e.g., Ktor, Spring, Play Framework, etc).
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
Experience designing and developing scalable, fault-tolerant, and robust backend systems.
Deep knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and query optimization.
Experience with agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Experience with financial systems, payment processing, or banking technologies.
Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Familiar with security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection regulations in the fintech industry.
