The Manager of Employee Relations will work closely with the Director, HR Compliance and Employee Relations supporting Professional Staff ER-related tasks for the NY office. This role will be responsible for managing and resolving employee conflicts, including conducting investigations and supporting organizational change. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR and employee relations, excellent communication & interpersonal skills, a thorough understanding of employment laws, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Director, HR Compliance & Employee Relations to develop and implement employee relations strategies, policies, and procedures
Conduct exit interviews to gain insights into employee turnover and identify areas for improvement by analyzing data trends
Manage, analyze, and resolve complex employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner in partnership with the Director, HR Compliance & Employee Relations
Conduct investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct, or violations of Firm policies, ensuring fair and objective outcomes in a timely and effective manner
Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management providing expert advice on employee relations issues as well as collaborating with HR Business Partners
Maintain, track and analyze employee relations data and trends to inform decision-making and strategic planning
Perform and coordinate administrative tasks related to employee relations, such as maintaining employee records, preparing reports, and managing communication with staff regarding policies and procedures
Support organizational change initiatives by providing guidance on employee relations implications and mitigation tactics
Leverage ER data and industry knowledge to draft talking points to guide employee conversations around organizational change initiatives
Ensure compliance with Firm policies
Stay informed about best practices, relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks
Perform other duties as needed

Education

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field involving Analytics

Preferred

HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred

Skills and Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in employee relations or similar HR position
Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
In-depth understanding of employment laws and regulations
Experience conducting investigations and resolving complex employee relations issues
Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate discretion and exercise sound judgement
Must possess a blend of strategic and critical thinking skills, collaboration skills, and strong analytical ability
Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, engaging with multiple departments
Proven organizational and project management skills, including attention to detail, ability to prioritize projects, tasks, manage risks and issues, and effectively communicate status updates
Experience with HRIS and other HR-related software
Proficiency with MS Office suite required; with the ability to create executive-level presentations

Experience with Workday a plus

NY only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $160k to $180k at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
