Who You Are:

Supergoop! is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to support the daily operations of maintaining complete and accurate financial records. This position offers excellent exposure to a range of work areas, including general ledger transactions, month end close, accounting operations, and cross functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and has a proactive attitude and strong work ethic. This is a full-time position that is on a hybrid office model based in New York, and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

General Ledger: Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, including ownership over Cash, Prepaid Expenses, and Fixed Asset accounts
Operating Expenses: Process and record Operating Expense transactions, including Payroll Expenses, Travel & Entertainment Expenses, and Depreciation and Amortization Expense
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely recording of transactions
Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and assisting in monthly variance analysis resolution
Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for external audits
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data processing

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Netsuite) and Excel
Understanding of US GAAP
Ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proactively share progress and seek guidance when necessary
Ability to analyze and problem solve; actively seeks ways to improve processes
Strong attention to detail
CPA or working towards a CPA is a plus

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience
